Shock as two men die in Cork crashes
GARDAÍ are currently investigating if medical factors played a role in both of yesterday’s fatal car accidents. Cork was left in shock after the death of two men in separate accidents which took place just hours apart. The later accident took place when a car being driven by a 51-year-old man crashed through railings and landed on top of another parked car.

Medical factors being investigated in both accidents By AUDREY ELLARD WALSH and ALAN HEALY The Mayfield local was driving down Glen Avenue at about 7.50pm when the accident occurred. Emergency services attending the scene removed the man to the Cork University Hospital where he was
pronounced dead. The parked car was empty at the time and there were no other injuries reported. Gardaí in Glanmire had already been investigating the death of an elderly man in a single-vehicle accident in Knockraha yesterday. The accident occurred at approximately 2.30pm at Ballinagoul.
The man, named locally as retired plumber Richie Browne, was the driver and the sole occupant of the car. He was declared dead at the scene and his body was transferred to the Cork University Hospital for a post mortem. The road was also closed for ● Continued on page two.
