Dear Friends of BTE,

Our 30th Anniversary Season was nothing short of miraculous! It’s because of YOU and your patronage that BTE exists. We are very proud to say that we have been JEFF RECOMMENDED for 2016-17’s Good People, a show that reminded us all of what it means to be human. Live theatre is a unique and essential element of a vibrant culture and community. By immersing us in the perspective of those different from ourselves, it makes tangible the commonality of our existence. By creating a unique experience -- in the moment, between audience and artists -- we acknowledge and celebrate our humanity. BTE is the place for artists, community members and students to celebrate live theatre. It is your theatre because BTE is a part of the structure of the community – both the educational component of College of DuPage and the culture and life of DuPage County. Every performance nurtures a shared experience, enriching each of us.

Based on Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 thriller, this stage adaptation spins the classic murder mystery into a fast-paced, whodunit farce. When an unassuming man’s night ends with a woman’s murder in his apartment, he must run from a spy organization and find a way to clear his name. This Tony Award-winning hit is packed with outrageous characters, spinning illusions and a death-defying finale.

Sarah and James, a photographer and a journalist, are war correspondents and a real-life couple. After being injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq, Sarah returns to Brooklyn to recover, and the couple is forced to re-examine their changing identities and the new juncture in their relationship. “A quietly powerful drama [that] crackles with bright wit and intelligence.”—The New York Times

Anthony and Rosemary, two introverted middle-aged misfits, have every reason to fear romantic catastrophe. Both have spent their entire lives on farms in rural Ireland, and a long standing land feud between the families put them at risk to lose it all. Will the eccentric, lovelorn duo beat the odds and find solid ground? “Outside Mullingar is touchingly sweet—just the thing for a happy cry.”—LA Times

We are thrilled to share the upcoming season with you, which explores, from very different perspectives, the idea of digging deep into one’s self to find the right path forward.

All Buffalo Theatre Ensemble performances contain adult themes and language.
