Our 31st Anniversary Season was nothing short of miraculous! It’s because of YOU and your patronage that BTE exists. We are very proud to say that we have been JEFF RECOMMENDED for 2016-17’s Good People, and 2017-18’s The 39 Steps, shows that reminded us all of what it means to be human and a piece of a larger society.

Live theatre is a unique and essential element of a vibrant culture and community. By immersing us in the perspective of those different from ourselves, it makes tangible the commonality of our existence. By creating a unique experience -- in the moment, between audience and artists -- we acknowledge and celebrate our humanity. BTE is the place for artists, community members and students to celebrate live theatre. It is your theatre because BTE is a part of the structure of the community – both the educational component of College of DuPage and the culture and life of DuPage County. Every performance nurtures a shared experience, enriching each of us.

We are thrilled to share the upcoming season with you, which explores, from very different perspectives, the idea of digging deep into one’s self to find the right path forward. Thank you for giving BTE renewed life. We look forward to seeing you again in that special shared space that live theatre creates.

Dive headfirst into a bubbly farce with five actors playing thirteen roles, and their misadventures surrounding one madcap night in two Parisian hotels. A fast-paced adaptation of Georges Feydeau’s classic, where opening the wrong door can lead to mayhem, giggles, and some unexpected understandings of a happy marriage.
Power, love and responsibility—who owns it, who wants it and who deserves it. A 1971 Marine Corps base becomes a collision course over race, women and the exacting cost of doing the right thing.
Heartfelt and hilarious! Ever since the miraculous night in 1942 when the Blessed Mother appeared to Grandpa in his barbershop, the neighborhood has looked upon the Nowaks' 20-foot shrine as a beacon of hope and faith. But a deathbed confession reveals a secret that brings the family legend into question, along with great fun.

"Mark Shanahan’s delightful update of this nineteenth-century classic!" —The New Yorker
"Spellbinding. I wouldn't have thought it possible, but John Patrick Shanley has followed up Doubt, the best play of 2004–05, with a play of identical quality." —Wall Street Journal. "As thoughtful and probing as Doubt. An arresting, ambitious tale of race relations and the military mindset, filled with the provocative questions and bristling with dialogue for which John Patrick Shanley, a fierce moral sage, is known." —NY Times. All Buffalo Theatre Ensemble performances contain adult themes and language.
"...a sprightly, gentle comedy, where revelations that might remake a family's sense of itself are each rolled out in service of laughter.” —NY Times "Utterly delightful while delivering a solid message on faith, the lack of it, why we believe what we believe, and how we can, or must, adjust to life's surprises.” —Theatremania.com
