Initiative Overview: 2018 – 2023 The initiative began in Spring 2018 with a visioning process and was initially conceived as 2 distinct initiatives (Affinity Networks, Translational Science). The overarching goal was to foster and support transdisciplinary collaboration within the college and community to design, develop, and implement research and best practices that have direct value and relevance to significant health challenges in the community.

Enhance research to improve population health

Develop translational research to address complex health challenges

Increase collaboration within the college, university, and our community

Engage community partners, students, and other collaborators

Serve as resource cores to improve college function and promote excellence in research, faculty, staff and student performance

Promote and support student success through experiential learning

Design and implement research that addresses community needs
