Home Health Care- Revolutions and Changes in the Industry Many people need to be treated at home because of illness, surgery, physical disability, or some other reason. There are many different types of home care, and what kind of attention is needed for the patient depends on the particular situation. You may be confused when choosing a home care service. Today we discuss the in-depth details of home health aide and the revolution this industry has witnessed over the years. Home Health Aide can provide medical and personal care services for you and your trained family. But keep in mind that home care is limited to some particular work. As with most health care services, home care is also experiencing rapid changes. The purpose of this guide is to provide you with basic information; what kind of service your family can access depends on his/her particular situation (care needs, insurance type, place of residence, etc.). Types of Home Health Aide: Home care can be divided into two categories: "skill type" and "personal type". These terms are derived from government projects such as Medicare and Medicaid, as well as private insurers. Skilled care is a care service provided by nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, language therapists or social workers. When a physician feels that medical attention is provided to a patient, the patient is required to provide such service. If your family needs skilled care, he/she is also likely to qualify for personal care. Personal care is a service provided by a family health assistant or a staff member known as a family care, personal care or assistant. These personnel have acquired home health aide course to get certificate. The third service is a companion and family management service, which provides non-medical assistance. Family health assistants can only do some health-related care and personal care work. They can measure the patient's body temperature and blood pressure. They can give the patient a dry gauze on the wound (in the absence of bleeding or pus) to help the patient move the arms and legs and assist the patient in the range of exercises such as simple stretching exercises, legs, and arms, etc. Often, the Family Health Assistant, is not allowed to take the patient. About the duties of health assistants, each state has different provisions. Please note that home health aide course personnel are usually only responsible for providing services to patients themselves, not for the patient's spouse or other family members. If your Family Health Assistant is at your expense, you can assign the assistant a task that includes services for your other family members. (Where the patient is a parent of the household, some managed health care plans may include the cost of taking care of a child). The work of the Personal Care Specialist has a lot in common with the work of the Family Health Assistant. The difference between the two depends on the training provisions of each state for practitioners.
