Swedish Language Camp

In-Person | Mon, July 24, 9 am–3 pm
Travel to Sweden for a day with this fun and interactive language camp designed for beginning Swedish learners ages 6–10. Campers will have fun expanding their Swedish skills while exploring the customs and cultures of different regions of Sweden through games, crafts, and music. ASI educators embed Swedish language instruction in activities throughout the day. $75 ($65 ASI member)
Plant Camp: Exploring Place Through Plants
In-Person | Tue, July 25, 9 am–3 pm
Create with and learn about plants through art, storytelling, and outdoor exploration in this one-day camp for youth ages 9–13. Campers will explore plants from both Minnesotan and Swedish landscapes, learning about their uses in art as well as in the kitchen! While not the focus of this camp, students will also encounter some Swedish language learning embedded in the day’s activities. $75 ($65 ASI member)
Viking Camp
In-Person | Tue, August 1, 9 am–3 pm
Sail away to the world of Vikings in this popular camp for youth ages 6–10. Learn about Viking mythology, forge your own weapons, and discover the mystery of runestones—all while having fun! $75 ($65 ASI member)
Teen Craft Camp
In-Person | Thu, August 3, 9 am–3 pm
Grow your skills in hard and soft slöjd in this camp designed for young makers ages 13–18. Led by instructor Anna Sharratt, participants will work with wood, fiber, and ink throughout the day to create a unique finished project. From carving to stitching, printing to making cordage, this class will include fun and new challenges for everyone. $85 ($75 ASI member)
Folk Music Camp
In-Person | Mon, August 7–Fri, August 11, 9 am–3 pm
Immerse yourself in Scandinavian folk music with this brand new camp for youth ages 9–13. Campers will participate in fiddle or recorder workshops, play dulcimers, participate in folk dancing, and cap off their experience with an ensemble performance for family and friends. Nordic Cooking and Culture Camp
In-Person | Tue, August 15, 9 am–3 pm
Put on your apron and get ready to create tasty new treats in this one day camp for youth ages 6–10. Participants will learn about and explore Nordic cooking and culture in a fun and interactive environment.
$75 ($65 ASI member child)
Pippi Camp
In-Person | Wed, August 16, 9 am–3 pm
The world’s favorite red-headed heroine is the inspiration for this day of adventure for kids ages 6–10. Campers are encouraged to dress like Pippi Longstocking or her friends. Get ready for fun craft activities, eating Pippi pancakes, becoming a ‘thing finder’, and more. $75 ($65 ASI member)
Handcraft Camp
In-Person | Mon, August 21–Fri, August 25, 9 am–3 pm
Calling all crafty kids ages 8–12! In this five-day camp, young makers will work with paper, nature, wood, wire, and felt to create fun and useful objects. Campers will leave with handmade items and new skills.
