The evening of October 18, 2014 was a special night for the AACC. Celebrating its 5th Annual Golden Dragon Awards event to a “sold out” room. Starting the evening was the cocktail reception – it was good to see old friends and welcome new friends. Guests were excited that special guests – Mickey and Minnie Mouse , dressed in Asian costume, were there for a photo opportunity. Souvenir photos were given to the guests at the end of the evening. The Silent Auction had something for everyone. Items ranged from a Marilyn Monroe tote bag, gift baskets, autographed basketball from The Orlando Magic, an iPad mini, gift card tree, jade bracelets, amethyst necklace, picnic basket, to theme park tickets. We thank all of the Silent Auction Donors for their generosity. Still more excitement awaited our guests, a “Lion Dance” performed by the Wah Lum Temple, wound their way thru the reception area and summoned everyone into the dining area. Significance of the Lion Dance is to provide good luck, health and prosperity. What a grand way to start the evening. Valerie Boey, of Fox 35, was the co-emcee along with Glenn Leong, a past president of the

AACC. Welcome remarks were provided by Coco Johnston, President of the AACC, who in turn introduced, Nancy Gidusko of Walt Disney World Resort, our Title Sponsor again this year, who welcomed everyone to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. To round out the entertainment for the evening was The Philippine Performing Arts Company of Tampa Bay. The costumes and performances were spectacular. Everyone was treated to a taste of Chinese and Filipino culture by these two amazing groups. At the end of the evening all dinner guests went home with their official AACC Travel Chopsticks gift, Chinese take-out boxes of goodies, and one person at each table won the lantern certerpiece to take home.
