former senator ferdinand “Bongbong” marcos Jr. on thursday, october 5, expressed anew his confidence to win his electoral protest against Philippine Vice President ma. Leonor “Leni” robredo. Last year, robredo won the vice presidential election with only around 263,000 more votes than marcos. marcos filed a case before the supreme Court (sC), accusing her of committing a massive electoral fraud. In a forum in Quezon City, marcos said he is positive that the results of recounting of votes in questioned precincts will prove that his allegations against her were true. “We are definitely sure that when the recount starts the true result will emerge and prove that the votes in the vice presidential election had been incorrectly counted,” the former senator told reporters.

marcos likewise confirmed that his family is in talks with President rodrigo Duterte over the planned proposal to return the billions-worth of assets they allegedly plundered during the reign of his father and namesake, former President ferdinand marcos. Asked about who he thinks is behind the recent scam at the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB), marcos suggested that their family’s long-time political rival, the Aquino family, may have something to do with it. Last september 23, thousands flocked at the grounds of UPLB in Laguna after they were promised to receive a share from the marcos family’s ill-gotten wealth. marcos has denied that their family had anything to do with the event, saying it was a “political action” organized by someone who had PAGE A3 Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
