Sereno impeachment case eyed over purchase of luxury car by Dana

PhILIPPINe supreme Court (sC) Chief Justice ma. Lourdes sereno is facing a possible impeachment case over her reported order purchase of a luxury sportutility vehicle (sUV) using judiciary funds. Lawyer Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon, president of Pro-Duterte Constitutional reformers to federalism, said sereno’s purchase of the “immodest and extravagant” vehicle can be considered as betrayal of public trust, which is grounds for impeachment.

Using government funds, sereno reportedly ordered the purchase of a toyota Land Cruiser worth over P5 million for her official business. About P3 to P4 million, also from government funds, was allegedly used for the bullet-proofing of the said vehicle. While Gadon said sereno is entitled to buy a vehicle as a high government official, the lawyer insisted that it should not be too expensive. “she (sereno) is entitled to buy a vehicle. the issue here is why is
