AFTeR facing criticism from their Democrat counterparts, a group of Republican senators on Thursday, June 22 released the first draft of a new health care bill that would focus on killing Medicaid while catering to Americans who may lose insurance gained from the Obamaera Affordable Care Act (ACA). The bill — which mirrors the house-passed American health Care Act (AhCA) — proposes establishing a new system of federal tax credits that would assist Americans in choosing health insurance plans. States would also be granted the ability to eliminate several benefits that were included in the ACA, including mental health treatment, maternity care and emergency services.
