Last Saturday’s performance was a testament to our progress—a massive 3 points against an in-form Euxton Villa side comfortably sitting in the playoff places. What’s more impressive is that we didn’t just beat them; we dominated from start to finish. The lads were impeccable, especially in the second half, with Mikey Howard displaying real quality on his debut and Kyle Trenerry putting in a fantastic performance between the sticks. Kyle looked calm and composed, both with his hands and his feet, and it was greattoseehowseamlesslytheybothfitintothesquad.

Looking ahead to the Garstang game, it’s crucial that we maintain this momentum. With a few games in hand, we must stay focused on ourselves, take it one match at a time, and let the rest of the table play itself out. If we continue to perform as we have in recent weeks, we could really surprise ourselves with where we end up. The lads are full of belief, and with your fantasticsupport,anythingfeelspossible.

THE ACADEMY

AtAshtonTownFC,wearedeeplycommittedtodevelopingthenextgenerationof footballtalent,andourU18sandU23steamsareattheheartofthismission.We believeinfast-trackingouryoungplayerstothefirstteam,providingthemwith thebestfacilitiesandsupporttohelpthemsucceed.Thisseason,we’vealready seenthefruitsofthisapproach,withpromisingyoungsterslikeWillHamilton, LewisRoughley,ConnorBrown,andSeanDrapermakingsignificantcontributions tothefirstteam.Theirtalent,hardwork,anddedicationareatestamenttothe strengthofouryouthdevelopment.Additionally,manymoreofouryoungplayers havegainedvitalexperienceduringpre-season,showingthatthefutureofAshton TownFCisbright.Weareproudtooffertheseplayersaclearpathwaytosenior football,andweremaindedicatedtonurturingtheirgrowthastheycontinueto developintothestarsoftomorrow.Thesuccessofouryouthteamsisnotjust aboutwinningmatchesbutaboutbuildingalegacyfortheclub,ensuringthat AshtonTownFCremainsaforcetobereckonedwithforyearstocome.

COWLEY’SCORNER

Well, just like last season, as we approach the business end of the campaign, we’re starting to pick up form. While we’re not quite in the same position as we were last year, the momentum is building both home and away. Watching the lads over the last few weeks, it’s clear there’s a massive gulf in belief, fight, and quality compared to the start of the season. You can see the confidence growing in the squad, and it’s been brilliant to watch.

That said, we all know this league is full of tough battles, and we need to take every game as it comes No match is easy, and the lads will need to give 100% every time they step out onto the pitch Some of the recent additions, like Connor Ikin, who’s been class since he signed, and Mikey Howard, are exactly what we need to strengthen the squad and keep this run going

This Saturday, Garstang come to our place, and we need to pack the stands and get behind the lads If results go our way, we could climb to 9th with games in hand, which would really set us up for the run-in It’s too early to start talking about where we will end up So, let’s carry this form forward, keep showing up, and see where we end up come the end of the season

THE 24/25 LEAGUE TABLE

North west counties division one north

The North West Counties Football League is a football league in the North West of England. Since 2019–20, the league has covered the Isle of Man, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cumbria, northern Staffordshire, northern Shropshire, the far west of West Yorkshire, and the High Peak area of Derbyshire. In the past, the league has also hosted clubs from North Wales such as Caernarfon Town, Colwyn Bay, and Rhyl. From season 2018–19 the league increased to three divisions: the Premier Division, at level nine (Step 5 in the NLS) in the English football league system.
