Heanor Park is a stunning purpose-built care home in the heart of Heanor offering an exclusive, luxury living community.

We offer residential, dementia care and assisted living, all available for long, short and day care.

Resident’s happiness and wellbeing are of paramount importance and we work hard to make sure every resident is settled into their home and the care we offer is

completely tailored to their needs.

Heanor Park is also the first of its kind in the country to make use of some of the latest developments in technology; boasting circadian lighting to replicate natural changes in daylight to help regulate sleeping patterns.

The latest in acoustic nurse call systems is also used so that help can be summoned anywhere in the building just by calling out.

Local area and facilities Heanor Park is located on the doorstep of Heanor Memorial Park with fantastic views of the woodland as well as a large secluded garden area to the rear of the property where you can enjoy the outdoors and take part in gardening activities.

The friendly village of Heanor is only a short distance from the home and we offer regular trips into the town for lunch or shopping as well as venturing further afield to Matlock and Derby.

We pride ourselves on person-centred care so if you have a particular hobby, or favourite restaurant, we will be more than happy to accommodate this.

In the home we have a fantastic activity schedule seven days a week as well as incredible on site facilities including a spa with a fully accessible jacuzzi bath, wellequipped salon, library, convenience store and a cinema room.

A luxury living community

Shop The convenience store has everything you need including toiletries, books and magazines, greeting cards and even a delicious selection of traditional sweets.

Residential care Residential care suits a range of people from those requiring minimal support up to full assistance with activities and daily living and minimal support from district nurses and other professionals.

All our bedrooms are generously sized, tastefully presented to a high standard and all have en suite walk in showers.

Our premium and superior rooms have double beds and wall mounted TVs and our ground floor rooms have their own garden terrace which can be personalised with your own furniture or plants.

The home is split into five households with a maximum of 16 residents per household to ensure everything we do has that extra personal touch.

Each household also has its very own kitchen area where independence is promoted within a friendly, homely environment. Our lounges and communal areas are where you can join in with activities, mingling over cakes and coffee or perhaps even enjoying a pre-lunch aperitif.

We also recognise that sometimes a bit of space is needed, and our quiet rooms are always available for some relaxation or just catching up on the papers.

Specialist dementia care We have two specialist dementia households at Heanor Park that provide a safe and secure environment for people living with dementia who may need a little extra support than what is offered in residential care.

We aim to deliver quality, personcentred, relationship focused care where we see the person as the individual regardless of age or cognitive ability.

We recognise that the environment can have a huge impact on a person living with dementia and therefore everything has been specially designed to provide an inviting environment, from a dedicated activities room, soft furnishings and colour schemes used.

Each dementia household has a

maximum of 12 bedrooms and are staffed by dementia support workers who receive a high-standard of training. Our dementia support workers work in partnership with residents and their families to produce individualised care plans as well as an individual activity care plan.

We also love to learn about the life history of our residents as it is an invaluable way for us to formulate a plan of care that includes past routines, hobbies and favourite food & drinks.

Luxury, assisted living suites The exclusive assisted living suites at Heanor Park are the first of its kind in the area and offer a luxurious, secure and homely environment with bills, meals, drinks and laundry all included, as well as the ability to add care packages as and when required.

Theses stunning apartments have a kitchenette, built in wardrobes, large wet rooms, storage cupboard and a communal area with sofas, TV and dining facilities.

Offering just the right mix of independence and assistance, each suite comes with its own designated parking space and private entrance.

Activities schedule We have dedicated activity staff for each household at Heanor Park who provide a stimulating schedule of activities and entertainment. No week is the same and we always plan sessions around the resident’s interests and local & national events, such as Easter and summer.

Menu Breakfast

Our menus are on a four-week rotation and are all freshly prepared by our kitchen staff who work hard to produce only the best home cooks meals. We also offer alternatives including vegetarian, diabetic, soft diet and other specialist diet options.

Where, when and how residents eat is very flexible and we cater to our residents wishes wherever possible.

We also hold themed food nights for all occasions throughout the year from Chinese New Year to Bonfire Night, so our residents always have the opportunity to try something new.

About Ashmere Derbyshire Ashmere Derbyshire was founded in 1935 by the Poxton family who purchased their first care home Kidsley Grange; an old farmhouse that was converted to a 22-bed nursing home. Gerald Poxton, the founder of Ashmere Derbyshire was joined by his son, Dr Michael Poxton and his wife Mrs Ann Poxton and several properties were added to the portfolio and by this time had seven care homes across Derbyshire.

In January 2001, Mr. David Poxton, Ann and Michael’s son, joined Ashmere, making it a family run business across three generations.

Ashmere has grown and diversified since it was founded, moving from only Nursing Homes, to many Homes diversifying into residential and dementia care. Currently Ashmere has eight homes: Codnor Park, King William, Smalley Hall, West Hallam, The Firs, Kidsley Grange, Valley Lodge and the newest edition Heanor Park which opened in 2019.

Useful information

We know that meeting the cost of care can be difficult and that’s why we like to keep it simple. Everything our residents need to be well looked after including chiropody, hairdressing, dental treatment, opticians and physiotherapy are all included in the weekly cost.

In addition, all trips, entertainment and activities are covered and paid for through activities and fundraising run by our incredible staff. Also included is 24-hour care, a private bedroom and bathroom, laundry and cleaning services including bed linen, towels and toiletries, as well as all utility bills and council tax.
