I have a confession to make: I’m a bad auntie. But if I’m going down, my sister’s coming down with me! Last Easter, we sent my nephews out on an egg hunt, dressed appropriately in their bunny ears, with home-made baskets ready to collect their eggs. We’d agreed they’d share their chocolate bounty, the lamb was slow cooking and it was all very idyllic – the relaxed day you’d hope for. The mistake we made, when asked by the innocent babes, ‘Do we have to hop all the way round?’, was saying, ‘Yes’. They’d added this instruction themselves, but we couldn’t resist. Mum’s garden is set across fve levels and, if you recall, last Easter there was still a little snow left on the ground. The cry as Jack fell down on the snow was heartbreaking…Followed by our very naughty giggles as the sight of the eggs fying and his bunny ears fopping was too much to bear. Worse still, we’d been flming the whole thing. I’m very sorry, boys – eggstra eggs this year!
