REFLECTIONS One day I will be taller than I already feel. To look in the mirror and discover the potential that lays dormant in my soul. To be a star in this drama called life. I am both resident and keeper of my prison, physically and emotionally. To one day discover that I can escape the drudgery of addiction and prison by believing and taking the first step to this journey of a thousand miles. I will walk and hike through sobriety with the same tenacity I had when I ran and scrambled through addiction. Today I learn to appreciate and love, but more divinely, to love myself. To be wise…and know myself. To be strong…and discipline myself. To be confident…and assert myself. And to be satisfied…please myself. I am responsible for all debts and obligations in my life. Past, present, and future. I do not make amends to gratify you, but to rectify my wrongs. If, in this process, forgiveness finds me, then blessed is the peace that turns my darkness into light, sadness into happiness, and death into life. Today, I am one day closer to my beginning.
