That’s why we call them screenagers: screen + teenager = screenager. Screenagers’ days are filled with electronic devices like smartphones, laptops, tablets and gaming consoles. Life without these devices is almost impossible to imagine. So what is going on? Is all this screen time good for teens, or is it harmful? What are teens doing in front of their screens? As you can see from the bar chart below, watching videos fills a lot of screen time. Rather than TV, screenagers prefer to watch films and series online. Playing video games is another favourite activity. Being online is an important part of many teens’ social lives. They game online with friends, chat, and share pictures and videos on social media. Some teens spend more time with friends online than offline. Of course, many teens do schoolwork on screens too. Is all this screen time good for teens? There are certainly some benefits to being online. It is entertaining and fun. You Vurderingseksemplar can find information and learn new things. It makes it easy to stay in touch with family and friends. You can meet new people too. Gaming can make you feel better about yourself, since you get to be the hero. Everything seems possible and you get rewards. Some games increase creativity and improve problem solving. Hospitals report that gaming helps children get through painful treatments; it takes their minds off pain and fear. For English learners, online games can improve their language skills. What are the downsides to so much screen time? The more time you spend in front of a screen, the less time for other activities. Tasks can take longer because you are doing many
different things at the same time. Have you ever tried chatting with your friends while doing your homework? Some reports say that playing violent video games can make you more likely to be violent yourself. Other reports show that the more time you spend in front of a screen, the lower your grades. There also seems to be a connection between screen time and problems like obesity, stress, and sleeping problems. Screen addiction is a growing and worrying problem; some screenagers just can’t get away from their devices. To sum up, even though all this screen time has some benefits, there are definitely some negative sides. Most experts agree that some screen time each day is not bad for you. However, screen time can become a problem when young people spend hours and hours in front of screens every day. An important question is; how do you know when technology takes over and starts controlling you, instead of you controlling the technology?

Super Mario is the best-selling gaming series in history. Its hero, Super Mario, is a global icon. People all over the world recognize the pudgy Italian plumber with his big moustache, blue overalls and red cap. The game’s music soundtrack is famous too. Kingdom. All kinds of strange creatures live in this magical place. Super Mario is in love with Princess Peach. She lives in a red and white castle.
