Who is the President of the United States now?

Even the most powerful people in the world need friends. And what is better than a faithful dog? Many presidents have found comfort in man’s best friend. The President’s wife is called the First Lady. The President’s family is called the First Family. Jokingly, the family dog is called the First Dog.

Name: Buddy Breed: Labrador Retriever Colour: Brown Owner: President Bill Clinton Buddy lived in the White House from 1997–2000. The First Family also had a cat named Socks. Socks and Buddy did not get along at all and had to live in different parts of the house. Name: Barney Breed: Scottish Terrier Colour: Black Owner: President George W. BushVurderingseksemplar Barney lived in the White House from 2001–2008. Sometimes he wore a camera around his neck called the Barneycam. The President posted some of the films Barney shot on the White House website.

Name: Bo Breed: Portuguese Water Dog Colour: Black and white Owner: President Barack Obama

Bo came to the White House in 2009. He was chosen because Malia, the President’s daughter, is allergic to many types of dogs. Luckily, she does not react to Bo’s fur.
