Famous Friends

Before reading

Do you know the names of any famous best friends?

In the books about Harry Potter we meet three friends, Harry, Hermione and Ron. They go to the same school. It is not an ordinary school, but a school for wizards. Harry is the most powerful, Hermione is brave and adventurous, and Ron is loyal. They have magic powers, but they also need each other. Together, they fight the evil wizard, Voldemort.

A magic spell: I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. Winnie the Pooh, Piglet and Tigger are friends who live in the Hundred Acres Wood. Pooh is a silly bear who thinks about honey all the time. Piglet is afraid of almost everything, Vurderingseksemplar but he will do anything for his friend, Pooh. Tigger likes fun and jokes and is always in a good mood. They are not real animals, but toys which belong to a boy called Christopher Robin.

“We’ll be friends forever, won’t we, Pooh?” asked Piglet. “Even longer,” Pooh answered.

Role play

Choose one pair of friends and one situation. Make up a dialogue between them. • An important item is lost. • One of them is not feeling well. • Something has been stolen. • They have a secret mission. Can toys be friends? They can – in the movies. In the first Toy Story movie, the cowboy doll, Woody, is Andy’s favourite toy until Andy gets a cool Space Ranger for his birthday. Woody is set aside and becomes very jealous. When they get into trouble, they have to help each other out. They realize that they are not so different after all.
