Photos capture mountain life in Dahl show
One of the best representations of Black Hills photographic talent and the unique aspects of mountain life is the annual Dahl Mountain Photo Competition and Exhibition, which will be on display from March 1 through April 20 at the Dahl Arts Center in downtown Rapid City. An exhibition based on mountain culture, juried by local photographers and educators, the show is a celebration of the lifestyle shared by people who thrive in the environments unique to mountainous terrain. There are three exhibit categories: Youth (18 and younger), Adult-Amateur/Hobbyist, and Adult-Experienced/Professional. Visitors are encouraged to vote for the Peg Sagen Memorial People’s Choice Award that will be given after the show closes in April. For more on the exhibition, hours and other shows at the Dahl Arts Center, go to www.thedahl.org or phone 605-394-4101.
