Kyeonghye Chung spent her childhood immersed in the world of piano, dedicating herself to studying and practicing. For her, the stories conveyed through the notes of composers long ago represent an endless path of imagination. She often feels that, in the moment, nothing truly happens as the sound fades away once played, it cannot be touched or modified. This process has become a continuous journey for Kyeonghye, as she seeks to uncover her own artistic voice within the rich tapestry of the composer's work.

Her works focus on the power of confidence and positive self-affirmation in both art and life. From her experiences on stage, she learned that believing in oneself can lead to exceptional results, while doubt can hold us back. Her artworks explore themes of affirmation and karma, showing how positive thoughts can shape our realities. Kyeonghye believes in the law of attraction, where our intentions can create real change.

She sees everyone as the main character in their own life story. Through her art, she encourages viewers to value themselves and their journeys. Her hope is that everyone who interacts with her work feels inspired to chase their dreams and find fulfillment.

Kyeonghye Chung invites you to tap into the energy of success within you, reminding us all that with positivity and belief, we can achieve our aspirations.

Dialing to myself is a series that captures intimate moments of dialogue between myself and my inner world. As we move through our daily lives, we often forget how essential it is to stay connected with ourselves. This series reflects those moments of tuning in & listening closely to our own voice and embracing the stories within.

The paper cup telephone, connected by string, evokes the innocent and joyful way we communicated as kids. But in this series, the string is tangled and twisted symbolizing how, as adults, it often becomes more difficult to reach the truest parts of ourselves.

As in all of my series, the main character Yogi Tokki embodies the phrase “I’m all ears. ” .

Just as Yogi Tokki listens openly to others, they also represent my commitment to listening fully and tenderly to my own heart.

Through this series, I hope viewers are inspired to pause, reflect, and begin their own quiet conversations within.

<InnerPeace,SVP>

"Inner Peace, s'il vous plaît" is a reinterpretation that captures the tranquil moments after all television programs have ended, when the moon shares its light with the darkness. It reflects a journey toward inner peace during the calm and warm hours of the night, where one confronts their true self.

Using imagery of a Ferris wheel, carousel, and roller coaster, this work conveys the profound joy that arises from a serene mind. The pointed rooftops symbolize upward arrows, representing the complex feelings of wanting to stay grounded while also yearning for growth.

The piece evokes a scene of sitting by a cozy campfire, sipping warm tea, and enjoying a favorite book, all set against a backdrop of silence filled with pauses. It embodies a leisurely moment of relaxation while also preparing the mind to take the next step forward.

<Life is Cool>

Life is more than just sweet moments; with a different perspective, you can find sweetness in every experience. Whether it's savoring a grain of rice or the bittersweet flavor of stevia, each moment has its joys.

As a right-handed pianist, I've often felt stiffness in my left hand, which sparked my desire to relax while performing. This inspired the "Life is Cool" series, reflecting my belief that this idea applies to everyday life. It serves as the central theme of my work.

The TIC TAC TOE game frequently featured in the series symbolizes the balance between love and financial matters. The figure 525,600 represents the number of minutes in a year, while the letter "M" stands for minutes and money, emphasizing the value of youth and time.

A recurring character in my work is a woman joyfully dancing naked on a rooftop. She symbolizes the celebration of life and the importance of fully embracing one's existence.

"777(Chill Chill Chill) Variations" is a creative exploration that playfully connects the concept of the lucky number “7” with the sound of "chill.“

777 Variations aim to offer a fresh reinterpretation, inviting audiences to embrace moments of luck while experiencing a state of relaxation and flexibility.

888 (BUSY BEING BUSY)

In my 888 Series, the curves of B, the shape of 8, and the infinity symbol come together as a visual mantra for endless prosperity.

Inspired by the traditional Chinese belief that 888 symbolizes triple blessing and great fortune, this series expands the idea into an infinite cycle where effort transforms into lasting abundance.

Busy Being Busy expresses my belief that even in the busiest moments, every step is an investment toward growth. Through vivid colors and playful energy, the series invites viewers to experience fortune not as a fixed goal but as a continuous, living rhythm within themselves.

TAMAGOTCHI

Tamagotchi Variation draws inspiration from Hermann Hesse's famous verse in <Demian>: "The egg is the world; who would be born must first destroy a world." This concept is intertwined with the nostalgic experience of nurturing a Tamagotchi, inviting audiences to reflect on the transformative journey of growth and potential.

In this work, the egg symbolizes the latent potential within each of us, serving as the initial step in the Tamagotchi experience. It embodies limitless possibilities for growth, encouraging individuals to embrace their aspirations. The process of breaking free from one world to enter another requires significant effort, yet I hope every moment of this journey can be as enjoyable as raising a Tamagotchi.

The colorful faces featured in the piece represent the diverse facets of our identities. We have the power to choose who we become as we prepare to embark on a new chapter of self-discovery.

The accompanying map and imagery within the bubbles reflect various themes from my body of work, including “Life is Cool”, “Just Do You”, “I Love Me the Most”, and “Inner Peace, s'il vous plaît”. Each theme is interwoven with the worldview of Tamagotchi, creating a cohesive narrative throughout the series.

Additionally, I express my lost potential through missing eggs depicted on the canvas. These absent elements symbolize opportunities that remain unseen, reminding us that our potential often lies in places yet to be explored.
