LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER

Dear beloved friends and patrons of Art in The Garden, With overflowing joy and a heart brimming with gratitude, I extend the warmest of welcomes to The Fourth Annual AITG fundraiser.

Tonight isn’t just an event-it’s a heartfelt gathering of kindred spirits, united in our mission to uplift those in need. Together, alongside Artists, Young Life Volunteers, Community Leaders, and Businesses, we create a tapestry of compassion, woven with live music, tantalizing flavors, and the beauty of art.

As I stand before you, reflecting on the journey that led us here, my heart swells with memories of resilience and community. In my darkest hours, it was the unwavering support of extraordinary individuals that became my guiding light. Though a significant portion of my personal development stemmed from diligent effort, I was pleasantly surprised by the profound influence of moments of rest and laughter amidst life’s challenges.

AITG was born from a place of profound inspiration, sparked by the selfless dedication of Eric and Baylie Collins to our city’s youth. Side by side, we poured our souls into volunteering until life’s twists demanded my full attention. Young Life’s ethos of nurturing resources, fostering community, and embracing rest and joy resonated deeply with me-it’s the very essence of our mission.

To each and every one of you, our cherished table sponsors, underwriters, and donors-I offer my deepest gratitude. Your generosity fuels the growth of AITG and San Antonio Young Life East, illuminating paths of possibility for countless souls. Special recognition is owed to our incredible Co- Chairs, Jennifer Biechlin and Desaree LaMacchia, and the tireless SAYL Staff--Eric & Baylie Collins and Chalene Martinezfor their boundless dedication and unwavering support.

Tonight, as we gather in the glow of shared purpose and camaraderie, let us continue to sow seeds of hope and opportunity.

Let’s come together to build a legacy of kindness and compassion, shaping a brighter future with every act of love.

Young Life San Antonio East is a nondenominational ministry that reaches out to adolescents (high school to college aged) living in poverty to build relationships, provide mentorships, and develop leadership skills. They provide meals; provide a safe environment to build meaningful community and teach life skills through training. Staff members and volunteers aim to lead with a servant’s heart and set an example for their teens.

Last year, YLSA East served 500+ individuals out of their home site, “The Porch.” With three staff members and two volunteers, and they operate on an annual budget of $150,000. San Antonio Young Life East relies on the generosity and support of individuals and organizations like yours.
