MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Tim Blonkvist 210-601-7003

Fo unding Partner of Overland Partners Architects, Tim Blonkvist, has been painting in Italy for the past 25 years each summer and in his studio with a group of local artists.

David Chidgey dschidgey@gmail.com

I strive to create art that feels both ancient and contemporary; work that transports you to another world or communicates in a way that transcends time. My use of the ancient medium of mosaic and modern medium of digital photography helps me do so.

Shea Daniel-Youngblood shea.danielyoungblood@gmail.com

Artist Statement: As a painter, I’m looking to tell the story of a subject as it’s being experienced. I want to convey the relationships, interactions, intersections, and connections I am privileged to participate in and bear witness to for a brief moment in time.

Vie Dunn-Harr vie@dunn-harrstudios.com

Du nn-Harr found her artistic expression slowly, yet deliberately, and continues to explore the many possibilities in the arts. She derived much of her early experience from the traditional school of art and continues to embrace formalism while stepping out of bounds. Her works are organic forms rooted in architectural elements. The forms are sensuous and portray the force and fragility of nature. Dunn-Harr considers herself a contemporary realist and has exhibited nationally and internationally.

Inspired by th e beauty of the natural world and the grace of the human form, my work explores the essence of simplicity and harmony through the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi. By abstracting flowers with bold colors and fluid motion, I symbolize the beauty of imperfection and the ever-changing nature of life. Water, a universal symbol of growth and transformation, weaves through my work, reflecting the resilience found in embracing both joy and hardship. Through intuitive exploration, I create art that invites viewers to find courage in imperfection and immerse themselves in a world of emotion, playfulness, and unabashed beauty.

Julie Goudge juliegoudge@gmail.com

Julie Goudge studies art with Rainey at House Paint Art Studio with fellow artist friends. Mother of 4 boys and grandmother to 10. Loves painting open fields, florals, and skies.

Rex Hausmann rex_hausmann@yahoo.com

I like to paint life. French wine is a must. Paint and write daily, as much as you can.

Mona Helmy mona@helmyplastics.com

My desire is to awaken emotions and inspire others to dream their own vision as they view my art. I love vivid colors, and my work is inspired by feelings, culture, and imagination. Each painting tells a story; feel free to write your own chapters as you view my work.

Driving t o portray beauty with truth and courage

As an artis t and photographer, my creative process focuses on the beauty of nature as inspiration for my artistic expressions. I convey feelings with rich and vibrant color sensations that are not realistic in nature, but only true in the mind. My manipulation of color and composition is intended to awaken the senses with interest and unexpected pleasure.

Britney Newman

Through my work, I seek to provoke thought, stir emotion, and spark dialougue about the intricacies of the human condition and the world we inhabit. Whether exploring themes of identity, social justice, or environmental stewardship, my work serves as a catalyst for introspection and change, inviting viewers to join me on a journey of discovery and enlightenment.

Terry Puckett terrygpuckett@me.com

It is a pleasure to share my art, benefiting the youth of the East Side. I co-founded the St. Philip’s College Art Department and was on the faculty for over 20 years. The Campus Ministry was my favorite hang-out. I hope that my painting “Girl with a Curl” will find a good home and contribute to this exceptional cause.

Mary Reeves maryreeves711@gmail.com

I p aint because it heals me and because I love it. I get so immersed that I don’t think of anything else but the painting.

My paintings rely on playful symbolism, bright color, and texture. Fanciful trees, flowers, animals and other imagery are formed by paint, torn pieces of metallic paper, metallic foil and other found materials such as labels. My paintings attempt to tell a story that celebrates the cycle of life, including love, joy, passion, renewal and growth.

My work explores the concept of reverse entropy—the subconscious human desire for order to emerge from chaos and for things to improve over time. Through abstract paintings, digital art, and altered landscapes, I examine themes of transformation, nostalgia, and hope for a better future. In my paintings, I focus on chaos, using fluid techniques that allow organic forms to emerge and dissolve, much like natural processes such as erosion. My digital abstractions emphasize order, incorporating structured geometric forms while still embracing imperfection and unpredictability. Through altered landscapes, I aim to capture fleeting glimpses of clarity, reflecting our deep longing for meaning and definition in an ever-evolving world.

“Eden Breeze” is a multi-media art piece that combines the richness of clay and resin with the vibrant colors of acrylics, This work is a testament to the harmony found in nature and the serenity it brings to our lives.

Richie Vios, a signature member of LPAPA and a member of SWS, OPS, and AIS, is a watercolor impressionist and plein air artist. Born in Cebu City, Philippines, he studied architecture

and later taught architectural design before moving to the U.S. in 2004. After working as an architectural designer in Florida and Maryland, he returned to the Philippines to share his knowledge while refining his watercolor technique. In 2017, he reunited with his family in Texas, shifting his focus from architecture to full-time painting. Now based in Austin, he travels across the U.S. competing in plein air events and leading watercolor workshops.

Vision is a Camera instantaneously capturing the Momentary that occurs and is gone Forever. Memory is the Architect of Who we Are: Sorting, Discarding and Preserving the Data of Experience. Art is the medium we use to distill Emotion from the well of Memory. In the realm of Art, Emotional Truth is more important than Visual Accuracy.

Kay

As an artist, my personal preference is the freedom contemporary art allows. I love the unrestricted walls. I love the intensity of oil colors and rush of a scrubbed canvas.

I enj oy the little in-between moments—the knowing glances, the yawns, the smirks, the brush of a cheek, the smell of honeysuckle in the wind. These fleeting experiences, the connectivity between each other and to God, are often what inspire my work. As an artist, I create to capture these moments, to give life to an idea, or to express a vision—sometimes drawn from reality, sometimes shaped by perception, and sometimes imagined as something greater. Whether my expressions are real or imagined, my hope is that they bring wonder, joy, and excitement to those who view my art.
