School Goals

Clarkes Elementary Schools' focus for the 2021-22 school year includes continued growth in the areas of math and literacy instruction as well as assessment while creating and maintaining positive relationships with students and families. Grade level teams collaborate to determine student learning goals that guide instructional practices and inform cohort and individual needs. Based on the needs of individual students, teachers are able to differentiate instruction while fostering a commitment to excellence and success for all students.

State Goals

The Oregon Department of Education is partnering with school districts and local communities to ensure a 90% ontime, four year graduation rate by 2025. To progress toward this goal, the state will prioritize efforts to improve attendance, provide a well-rounded education, invest in implementing culturally responsive practices, and promote continuous improvement to close opportunity and achievement gaps for historically and currently underserved students.

Safe & Welcoming Environment

Clarkes strives to ensure all students, staff, and families feel welcome while adhering to all local guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our school works as a team to implement a Positive Behavior Intervention System. As part of this system, the staff creates opportunities for student leadership. They also focus on individual as well as group recognition. Throughout the year students are celebrated for positive choices through “Cougar Paw” awards and other positive reinforcements. As part of creating a welcoming environment, the district provides access to translation and interpreters for our families who request these services.
