With two LMFTs, six therapist trainees currently enrolled in a master’s LMFT program and a small team of volunteers, PIT’s biggest challenge is obtaining funding to grow the organization. “I think we have really solid programs,” says Licurse. “We have a wonderful staff - the outreach staff, the volunteer staff, the administrative staff who volunteer. The people are great. Our board is wonderful, but funding is our biggest obstacle to growth. It’s always a challenge.” Once additional funding is secure, PIT plans to increase its outreach program through school talks and presentations, promote its teen depression group therapy program, offer telemedicine (sessions
