Following on from the April auction in which two and a quarter million dollars of 20th and 21st Century New Zealand art changed hands, ART+OBJECT announces its next sale of Important Paintings and Contemporary Art which will include the collection of the art buying group, The Stellar Group who will be disbanding after ten years of collecting Contemporary New Zealand art. Their collection includes major examples by John Pule, Fiona Pardington, Allen Maddox, Michael Parekowhai, Judy Millar and many more. Further early highlights include works by Colin McCahon, Ralph Hotere, Milan Mrkusich and Gretchen Albrecht.
The photography section includes the Australian based collector Peter Fay whose collection toured Australasian public galleries under the banner Home Sweet Home across 2004 – 2006. A big supporter of New Zealand photography, his collection includes photographs by Ava Seymour, Ben Cauchi, Bill Culbert, Peter Peryer, Laurence Aberhart, Maris Shannon and Richard Maloy.
