15-minute Arogya Hypertension or High Blood Pressure is one of the most common diseases globally, causing heart disease and stroke. A person is suffering from hypertension when the systolic blood pressure on any two days is greater than or equal to 140 mmHg, or the diastolic blood pressure is more than or equal to 90 mmHg. Hypertension and Yoga can be balanced.

Causes and risks of hypertension: There are various causes of high blood pressure common among people worldwide, such as: 1. Unhealthy diet 2. Physical inactivity/sedentary lifestyle 3. Obesity 4. Consumption of alcohol or tobacco 5. People above 60 years of age are more prone to high blood pressure. However, there has been an increase in the number of patients in their early 30s diagnosed with hypertension due to stress and various factors mentioned above. 6. Family history or genetic factor for high blood pressure

Common Symptoms of Hypertension: Hypertension is also called a ‘silent killer’. Those who are suffering from it are most of the time unaware of its existence. However, there are few symptoms seen in patients with hypertension. They are: 1. Morning headaches 2. Nosebleed 3. Irregular heart rhythms 4. Vision changes 5. Buzzing in the ears 6. Fatigue 7. Nausea 8. Confusion 9. Anxiety 10. Vomiting 11. Chest pain and muscle tremors As we can see, these symptoms are shared with other diseases; it becomes difficult to conclude. Hence, the only way to detect high blood pressure is through measuring blood pressure with the help of a professional.
