IN ENGLISH "The best way for me to learn a foreign language is … by singing songs, watching movies and shows, without subtitles, and, if possible, to travel abroad." Ana Luísa Marques de Carvalho; nº2; 10ºA

to watch movies with subtitles and listen and understand song lyrics. Ana Maria Machado 10ºA nº3

to go abroad to be directly in contact with the language to experience that culture. Carlos Zhu 10ºA

by reading books in that language since, apart from learning more about the grammar, I can expand my vocabulary and get to know more about a particular culture: how people behave, what their daily routine is like and others aspects related to their habits and customs. Maria Eduarda Sá Marta, nº 19,10ºA

by talking to people that are native speakers – maybe studying abroad. When I talk to a person that speaks English fluently I learn lots of new expressions and practise my English. Being in a school of languages really helps – all the teachers are English and, because of that, all the students must talk in English. If you want to learn a language, you should go to the country where that language is spoken, because you will find it much easier and it will be really fun. Filipa Curto 10º F

by watching movies or series with subtitles in English or in Portuguese or with no subtitles at all. I learn some typical expressions by catching what the characters are saying and doing. I think that watching this kind of stuff with no subtitles is a good way to learn because if we are really interested in the movie or series, we’re going to be “forced” to pay attention and understand what is happening. In my opinion that makes us more fluent in English. Ana Teresa, nº4, 10ºF

by watching films with subtitles in English, listening to music and translating its lyrics, reading books in English… The other way to learn English is to travel abroad because we can also experience the different cultures and traditions. There are plenty of colleges in London where we can learn English. I would love to do a summer course there if I had the opportunity. Beatriz Magalhães Barbosa Pereira, nº6, 10º F

by studying abroad (like U.S.A, England…), because I think if we go to another country we can learn by communicating with other people in English (listening and speaking) and in the classes we can enrich our grammar. I think it’s important to meet new people that speak English, because this will improve our language skills. That’s why, for me, the best way to speak English is by going abroad. João Costa, 10ºF, nº 16

to live as a native speaker, abroad. And the best way to do it is definitely by studying there and facing the daily routine in the field. Patrícia Silva, number 4, 10th A

to have a trip to a country where the native language is the language I'm trying to learn, because that way we are enjoying ourselves while learning. Gonçalo Correia 10ºA

by travelling or studying in another country, because you won't learn just a language, but also a new culture. Ana Raquel Martins 10ºA
