Peter’s Church
Summer is here and hopefully a time for many of you to take a well earned rest.
Schools, colleges and some businesses close but there is one place that never closes (apart from recent Coronavirus restrictions!) and that is St. Peter’s Church. Our doors are open from 9am to 5pm every day and everyone is welcome to come in. It is a quiet place to sit, think, pray or enjoy the wealth of history associated with this almost 850 year old building. Perhaps if you are having a “staycation” holiday and haven’t been inside, this might be your opportunity. You could take a walk and make the church your destination. It is also interesting to wander through the church yard and read some of the inscriptions on the older headstones or spend a moment with the local fallen soldiers as you find the war graves. On Sundays we have a service every week (see below) and everyone is welcome. After our special Petertide Service and farewell celebration for Reverend Geoffrey Boult in June, everything will continue as usual. Services will be taken by different people until we know when a new appointment might be made but you are assured of a warm welcome if you would like to come and join our worship. Services
Our service times will be:1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th Sundays 9.30am 2nd Sunday All Age Worship 10.0am Refreshments are served after each service, an opportunity to chat and socialise. Weekdays Coffee Mornings Tuesdays 10.30am in church. Afternoon Tea and Cakes 2-4pm in Church Little Fishes 0-5 years accompanied Thursdays 1.30pm.
