General Comments - EMS Odyssey Conference - June 13, 2024

Dr Ranney was my favorite! She is so energetic. Gives you the need to learn more! All the presenters had great information and presented it well, easy to follow.

Presenters were all from a diverse range of backgrounds in the medical field and presented well, and very knowledgeable

They all did a great job presenting and you could tell that each presenter was passionate about the topic. Learned a lot and enjoyed it.

Some great presenters.

To be able to get the videos to download and work.

Absolutely a great EMS conference. The presenters were so knowledgeable and able to deliver the information in a way that could be understood and retained. Thank you again for putting together such a wonderful training opportunity.

I did have a hard time with cardiac she faded in and out

Great presenters as always. You guys always find the good ones.

Thank you all for the time and knowledge

All the presentations along with the presenters was a great experience. Their information was well organized and accessible during the presentation.

It is always quality at these events, Thank you!

Always phenomenal.

I would like to be able to have these recorded so I can go back and register. At my age it is hard to take notes. Even on the handouts. I had to use my phone so I could not get screen shots.

Great

Dr. Jordan was beyond any category you wish to assign.

Please have Dr. Jordan back on Dec 5. There was so much info I was not able to register it all.

Good variety of subject matter, presentations were great, loved it.

I really appreciate the opportunity for additional education. Thank you

thought the conference was great and I definitely learned several new things to apply in the field as a paramedic. I thought Lynn’s topic was very thorough and pretty good regarding assessment, but I would have loved to hear something from her on toxicology, environmental, etc. instead, as the assessment topic is a bit more routine.

Really great and insightful.

Superb job putting this together. Thank you.

Only had tech issues with the second presenter. Everything when smoothly through the day.

No advice for future events, all classes were well represented

General Comments - EMS Odyssey Conference - June 13, 2024

I really enjoyed the first presentation by the medics from Border Patrol because the similarities and relatability, coming from a Law Enforcement background as well, but also working as paramedic as part of my job.

All were very knowledgeable and insightful.

Keep this same format, it works very well.

All presenters were knowledgeable and interesting. I learned good tidbits from each one and appreciated their time.

I loved the event and am looking forward to the next one.

O/B emergencies and Environmental emergencies

I appreciate every opportunity to get more training and these presenters were engaging and informative. I had no idea anyone could get a core temperature of 108.

This was one of the best conferences I have attended. Mainly because of the presenters.

The variety of topics that very each time are incredible. Topics don't repeat and each time is kept interesting.

I like the online CEs. Im not big on being in big groups, I enjoy my own chair in my own space. I will keep attending these if they are available

All of the presenters were exceptional. The content on hyperthermia and environmental emergencies (e.g., hypothermia) were great.

AEMS always does a great job. They're the experts in virtual conference/workshops. Makes participation easy and fun. Thank you and God Bless

I enjoyed the boarder medics and would enjoy hearing from other non traditional presenters like this again.

Cardiac was hard to hear at times

Street wise

Loved it thank you

All presenters were knowledgeable in their field of experience.

Casey Solem, you should consider presenting at FDIC if you haven’t already.

The presentations were informative. Personally, I felt Dr Jacobs really hit some extremely relevant pre-hospital issues.

Keep doing what you're doing. Great Job!!

The review about trauma urban vs rural was great. I would love to see more discussion on how protocols may change or need alteration based on transport time.

General Comments - EMS Odyssey Conference - June 13, 2024

While Code Eco presentation was very informative, the information was delivered quickly. Absolutely enjoyed every part of Dr. Jacobs lecture. He was well spoken and delivered a lot of usable knowledge.

Thank you all for your hard work!

Great presenters...all experts in their field.

Varied topics is always appreciated

All were very good and informative

Keep up the great work

Excellent information.

Everything was fantastic. Thank you.

Great Job!

They were all fascinating. Very interesting and great beginning and ending presenters that kept you engaged at all times from start to finish.

You all did an excellent job as always. Thank you.

LBW's presentation was dated and not engaging.

Excellent as always!

FANTASTIC WORK AEMS!!!

Keep up the great work

There’s always technology issues but that is hard to avoid.

Outstanding!

Great work everyone!

Awesome conference and great info from all of the presenters.

Thank you for all the time and effort to put this together!

Comprehensive and informative

MD's did a great job!

Please keep virtual!

for

Future Presentations

- EMS Odyssey Conference - June 13, 2024

Pediatric always a good refresher

Head injuries

Stemi recognition with in dept break down of 12 leads interpretation.

With the ever evolving and seemingly apparent rise in litigious cases across the country; I would be interested in having topics regarding what calls are more susceptible in going against first responders and best ways to avoid them or at the very least be protected.

Interfacing with medical helicopter crews.

More information as a first line ems responder and arriving on scene

Burns, more on new technologies in cooling, resuscitation and maybe focus on the emerging stand alone ERs and what they should do if a Trauma walks in.

Illegal drug use, geriatric emergency's and OB emergency's.

Also, any lecture topic where prehospital treatment is reinforced, and we get to see the definitive care treatment provided by in-hospital providers through actual case studies to show that what we’re doing in he field really plays a difference in patient outcome. Also, any new and emerging technologies in EMS like the TARP lecture, possibly how AI is going to fit into what we are doing.

Based on my level more prehospital topics

Presenters that work in pre-hospital are always good because their experiences help the rest of us learn.

Trauma is always good. Pediatric anything is good b/c we don’t do enough of it.

Living in a mostly elderly community I would like to have a topic on falls concerning elderly. More importantly knowing how to help the elderly understand the need to be seen by a physician. My father died 4 months ago as a result of a fall, because he couldn't see the need to be seen in the Emergency Room.

Altitude sickness and travel related issues. crush injuries/entrapment....do we need a trauma team? baby safe haven from start to finish. How to deal with or handle family who make you a hero after an incident

First Responder Off-Duty Highway Struck-By Fatalities (David Harden created and presents a PPT module for TIM training on off-duty struck-by fatalities (5% of nationwide first responder struck-by fatalities occur while off duty)

EMCT Management of Injured Police Dogs – Are EMCTs and Ambulance Services Ready After Passage of AZ SB 1068?

Prehospital Whole-Body Ice Emersion to Treat Hyperthermia – Phoenix Fire Department’s Approach and Successes

Changes in Mass Triage Protocols – Comparing Protocols (e.g., START Triage, SALT Triage, JumpSTART)

Austere EMS – Managing with Less to Ensure Good Patient Outcomes 6. Status of Community Paramedicine in Arizona

Innovations in cooling devices and remote patient monitoring during heatwaves

Whole Blood Administration in the Prehospital Setting – Results from Other States’ Implementation Guidelines

Strategies for EMS response during and after wildfire events

Future Trends in EMS and Trauma Care

Suggestions for Future Presentations - EMS Odyssey Conference - June 13, 2024

Best practices for EMS response during extreme heat events.

Water-Based Rescue EMS Considerations

Military EMS to Civilian EMS Transitioning – Still a Hot Topic to Support our Military Heroes

EMS & Volunteer Coordination – Professional EMS & Volunteer Providers at Public Events, Disaster Response Events

Review of Prehospital Treatment Products/Devices – What’s New and Their Effectiveness and Safety

The EMS Compact (REPLICA) – Discussion on Arizona Participation

Managing respiratory emergencies during pollution events

Longevity of EMCTs in Arizona

More Dr. Ranney! She makes me feel comfortable asking her anything even in person and I really, really appreciate that kind of interaction with receiving facilities/doctors. I also love Dr.Lynn and could tell she wasn’t feeling herself today. I hope her health improves so that we can continue to learn from her for years to come. Dr. Lynn has long been a favorite of mine. The medics from the border were less polished presenters but that was kind of endearing. I thought their presentation was a great addition and especially valuable hearing their experiences and perfective from the field.

Any topics that every EMCT need for their recertification

Keep things relevant. Maybe look at SCA survival rates in AZ, and some of the most relevant issues regarding SCA survival.

Based on taking OBLS I would like to see some discussion on the use of antihypertensive in the prehospital environment. It seems like many of the ALS medical interventions in OBLS do not fit into Arizona protocol.

Strategies for mental health support and resilience building

Thank you to all who organized this conference. I've participated for the last 3 or 4 years and find it very informative.

OB high risk and trauma Suggest Bob Dotterer to speak re: cardiology or pharmacology, excellent speaker.

Burns, Penetrating injuries, and personal safety.

Always appreciate having a toxicology related topic

Status asthmaticus, status epilepticus, posterior MI

Naloxone Leave behind.

Phenomenal speakers - exceptionally dynamic

Burns More Trauma Child Abuse signs and reporting.

Trauma

Further interactions between EMS and Police as more officers are receiving some level of training.

Street drugs in our area and what we need to know prehospital as well as in our EDs.

Love the breadth of topics and quality of presenters
