The book 'The Death and Life of Great American Cities' authored by Jane Jacobs suggested that urban design is intended for the inhabitants of the city rather than a divine observer with a bird's-eye view. This contrasts with the conventional urban design approach, which employs a top-down perspective design system. This previously unexplored perspective inspired me to investigate the design that is influenced by different role in the city. Therefore, I cannot help but ponder the following inquiry: For whom do the urban designs in the city serve? So I created three projects from three distinct vantage points in my portfolio—nature, residents, and pets to record my current thoughts and creations.
