A very warm welcome to you all here this evening for our jampacked Gents Evening!
We have a very busy meeting today with 8 exciting races with 77 horses declared, so grab a drink and a bite to eat and enjoy the evening with us.
A very warm welcome back to all our sponsors this afternoon; all of which have been supporting Worcester Racecourse for some time now and we are very grateful for this.
Look out for the Secret Cabaret Band who will be playing throughout racing tonight and will provide some great entertainment and live music. Not only this, but we are also running the Best Dressed Gents competition tonight, so keep a look out for our spotters up until the 2nd race who will call you down to the parade ring with a chance to win some great prizes.
Our sponsor today is Eventmasters who we welcome back once again and thank you for all the support you provide this racecourse. Have a very enjoyable evening with us and we hope to welcome you back once again soon.
We are now halfway through our Season, with plenty more exciting days here both on and off the racetrack. As you can see we are setting up ready for the Wacky Weekender 3 day festival which has some top bands playing. Tickets are still available so why not come along and enjoy a weekend of live music and entertainment.
On the track, we are really looking forward to our Pershore Plum race night in August, Family Fun day in September and the Fixed Brush Series Final in September. Tickets are still available for all fixtures on our website www.worcester-racecourse.co.uk
If you are looking for something extra special, why not book into our Severn restaurant or our private hospitality suits where you can treat yourself to our specially created dishes with great views of the track. Celebrate in style and book with us at info@worcester-racecourse.co.uk
Our next race day is Thursday 27th July and we hope to see you then!

TIMEFORM VIEW Still capable of smart form over fences last season and made most of 2 good opportunities back over hurdles in May. This a lot harder but still the one to beat.
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions.
A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.
