MUSEUM OF TRADITIONS

Museum of Indian Traditions is a hub for people to experience the Indian culture and festivals, different languages , Indian music and dance and Indian food. Purpose of the collection is to preserve and perpetuate the authentic histories and cultural heritage of Indians -past, present, and future.

Music – national songs, lyrics, musical instruments Dance - dance movement and form, path mapping Language – audio recordings, video recordings Food – pottery, recipe collection Festivals and clothing – costumes and uniform preservation Archive spaces: Room of music – store musical instruments Recorder room - audio and video tapes for music and dance Dance room – display of different dance movement and forms Room of culture – display of different costumes and festivals Types of gardens: Courtyard – festivals Amphitheater – performing Dance forms Garden of sound – music garden Vegetable garden/ Terrace garden - Food

SITE ANALYSIS |

BELLWOOD QUARRY ATLANTA , GA

Bellwood Quarry is a century-old gash in the landscape near the Beltline in northwest Atlanta. The quarry was once used as a prison labor camp and granite extraction site.

Location consists of many hills which forms an interesting topography in the area.

Looking at the site in section, it creates a very dramatic landscape

CONCEPT| EARTH + WATER + SKY EARTH Stone carved from the quarry edge and material is extracted and recycled to form the primary building material of the earth module.

WATER Wooden floating structures connected with the earth module. users feel the water SKY Sky modules are connected to both water and earth modules. made out of stone as well as act as wooden floating structures. Users feel connected to the sky
