Meet Adrienne Berry

Founder & CEO

I’ve always enjoyed bringing people together for exciting experiences to take advantage of living life fully and why not make a new friend along the way? I graduated from the University of Virginia with degrees in art history and studio art and then decided to live in France to experience learning another language and live as an expat in another country. This is when I experienced extreme loneliness, showing me there needed to be another way to meet others and make friends. Aloe is born out of that desire for what I wish I had available to me when I moved somewhere new. I wish I had been able to go through an organization I was in to meet others like me (online first and then in-person) and join their events to immediately get plugged into a welcoming community. I hope that by using our services, you’ll see positive connections being made that demonstrate the power of word-of-mouth marketing and inperson interactions. Besides doing Aloe, I’m an avid film photographer

(check out my artwork at Adrienne Berry Art). While living abroad, I documented my experiences in a blog and created a list of my favorite restaurant recommendations that you can find on Aloe. In my free time, I enjoy meeting others and hearing about their stories, speaking French, taking long walks and hikes, visiting art museums, and traveling!

Did you know that the word “aloe” (with slight variations) is found in at least 58 different languages around the world? Did you know that the gel from the aloe vera plant has been used for health and medicinal purposes for centuries? With Aloe, we hope to help make a positive impact on mental and social health in society and help heal loneliness. Get out of your home and be part of the world around you by living life in-person and doing activities with others. For those who are extra curious, the simple “A” letter in the Aloe logo is simplified Chinese, meaning people, human, person. The added chat box is in reference to talking and communication, what we hope you’re able to do on this platform!
