AfterMgr.Clunehadsaid theprayerfromthe"PontificaleRomanum"forthe newBishop,Archbishop Beovich,asMetropolitanof theEcclesiasticalProvince ofSouthAustralia,accompaniedBishopGallagherto theEpiscopalChairand completedtheceremonyof Enthronement.
Mgr.Clunethenascended thepulpitandreadanaddressofwelcomeandloyalty toBishopGallagheronbehalfofthediocesanclergy,

Bishop thankedGallagherthen enthroningtheArchbishopfor himontheChair ofthedioceseofPortPixie. Hewasgratefultotheother Bishopsfortheirpresence, andtothepriestsalso,par- ticularlythe'priestsofthe diocesewhomhethankedfor thebeautifuladdressofwelcome.
Inthefewdayssincehe hadarrivedinthediocese hehadmetanumberofthe priests,andhadlearned fromactualexperience,what hehadpreviouslyknown fromthetestimonyofothers, howgoodandkindthey were.Hehopedthatashe andtheybecamebetteracquaintedtheywouldgoforwardtogetherandadvance theChurchofGod.

Hethankedthewholecongregationandexpressedhis happinessthatsomanywere
present.Heaskedthemnot merelytoprayforhim,but totakebackhisrequestfor prayerstothoseathome.He assuredthemthat,evenas hehadbeenenthronedthere thatmorningintheirpresence,sohehadenthroned hisheartineverycommunitycentre,andhome throughoutthe diocese.
Inconclusion,BishopGallagherdrewattentiontothe happystateofaffairsinAustralia,wherepeoplewere freetopractisetheirreligion. Persecutionragedelsewhere. attemptswerebeingmadeto suppresstheChurchanddestroyitswork.Peoplesaid "Thatcouldneverhappen here."andhehopedthey wereright;hehopedit neverwouldhappenhere, buttherewasnocertainty aboutthat.
Thecontributionthey couldmaketothegoodof theircountryanditsdefence wasthateachandeveryone shouldbegood,livinggood lives,keepingtheCommand ments,lovingGodandmen andspreadingthatloveHe hopedthatasheandhis peoplecametoknoweach otherbettertheywouldlove oneanotherandprayfor oneanother.

ThefulfilmentofthemessageofOurLadyisthe onlyhopefortheworld.The grimalternativeisruin, slaughter,tooterribleeven tocontemplate.

Onemorningwhileclimbingthehills,theIndian heard,corningfromarocky pinnacle,acanticleresound ingsweetly,whichseemed tohimlikethewarblingof manydifferentbirdsthat sangtogetherandchoired onewithanotherinaccord. Thehigherhillsbehindrepeatedandmultipliedthe 'echoes.
