Theprogrammeincludedseveralnumbers whichrankedwiththebestproductionsof professionalcompanies.
Thesameprogrammewas presentedbytheboysforan audienceofwellover200 nunsofthemetropolitan areaonSundaylast.Special broughtthenunsfrom theirconventstoBoysTown.
Guestsoftheboysonthe Fridaynightincludedpriests andBrothersandofficials fromtheWelfareand Immigrationdepartments. ManymembersofthePerth Gunclubwhichadjoinsthe institutionwerealsopresent
Theprogrammeincluded instrumentalandvocal numbers,sketches,choral items,actionsongs,gym-
nasticdisplaysofpyramids, weightlifting,Romanrings, tumbling,andhorizontal ladder.
Realismwasbroughtinto theactionsongs.Inthe dramatizationofWaltzing Matildaoneoftheboys'pet lambs,"Salt,"wasthejumbuckwhowasstuffedinto thetuckerbag.Allwent wellduringrehearsalsbut bythetimethesketchwas presented,thelambknew whatwascomingandonly afineflyingtacklebythe Swagmanenabledhimto catchit.Otherpetlambsat ClontarfarecalledMustard andPepper.

Itwasadayoftriumph, foritmarkedtheendofa tenyears'struggleforpermit,fundsandbuildingmaterial.In1940apermitwas requestedforthefirsttime onlytoberejectedagain andagain.Finallyin1950 Mr.LeslieM.L.A.proved himselfaloyalfriendwhen hepresentedFatherPlacid, O.S.B.withthecoveted permit.Thenoperations movedapace.
Ofcourse,therewere furtherobstaclestobeovercomeandnogreaterone 11 thantherequiredsumof nearly£8,000.Fetesbazaars,etc.,wereorganized andthisyearaJubilee.
