Sir,-Thesightofchildrenin winterwoollenuniforms,awaitingbusesinthesun,duringthe recentwarmspell,bringsone's mindonceagaintothesubjectof uniforms.Sofarvoehavenot hadverymuchthatisconstructive,anditisthewriter'sdesire toofferhelpfulsuggestionsfor summeruniform.
Withawideselectionofuncrushablespunlinens,reasonably pricedintheshopsatthemoment,amuchneededreform couldbecarriedouteffectively. Theeliminationofbeltandpleats makeseasylaundering.The mainshadecouldbethedarkerof theschoolcolours.Collar,cuffs, andbuttonsinthelightershade. Embroideryonthecollarand cuffscouldbeacombinationof theschoolcolours.Two,orat themost,three,dressesshould sufficeforschoolwearonly.
Thewinteruniformsarequite sound,andwithcareandthought couldbebasedonafive-year plan.Unfortunately,thiscannotbedonewithboys'clothes.
