Theviolationofcommutative justicebegetsthedutyofrestitution,andthisdutyisaserious one,sincethesafeguardingof rightsisaseriousmatterinrespectofpublicpeace,mutual goodwill,andthefreeandindependentexerciseofhumanactivity.Aseriousviolationofsuch dutyisobviouslyaseriousprejudicetothesenecessaryendsof life.Wherefore,St.Paulsays: "Knowyounotthattheunjust shallnotpossessthekingdom ofheaven neitherthieves norextortionersshallpossessthe kingdomofGod"(I.Cor.,6.9, 10).Thisjusticemaybeviolatedbyinvadingtheproperty ofothers,theirlives,theirbodilyintegrity,theirgoodname.
