Attheinauguralmeeting,which wasconvenedbytheVenerableArchdeaconSmyth.therewasagoodattendanceofmin,allofwhom,were mostenthusiasticastothebenefits tobederivedbyhavingaCatholic Societyformeninourmidstandthe desirabilityofhavingoneformed forthwith.

Itis,however,aregrettablefact, thatthosetentlemenwhohadmost, ifnotall,tosayatthatmeeting, andeventheIwogentlemenwhorespectfullymovedinaveryenthusiasticmannerthattheSocietybeformedandavoteofthankstothe VenerableArchdeaconSmythfor conveningthemeeting,havenotpeen seenatameetingsincethesociety gotintoworkingorder.
