OnSundayafternoononepc turesquelysituatedDeerparkGrounds Carrick-on-Suir,twointerestingmatchesunderGaelicRuletookplace, thefirstbeingahurlingcontestfor theKilkennycountyChampionship, andinwhichgreatinterestwascentred. Thesecondwasafootball contestbetseenRathgormack(countyWaterford)andtheSlate-quarry MinersicountyKilkenny)andthis matchalsoapp-earedtoexcitekeen interest.Theweatherforthegreaterpartoftheafternoonwasfine, andtherewasafairlygoodattendance.butasthedayadvancedthere wereseveralshowersofhailand snow.Thefieldwasincapitalorder,andever)creditisdueinthis 'connectiontothatveteranGael,Mr. MauriceDavin.Details Mooncoinv,Tullaroan.

AteverystageofthegameTullaroanwerecompletelyoutclassedby Mooncoin.Thiswasespeciallythe caseintheforwards,theTullaroan menbeinghopelesslyinferiorin quicknessandaccuracy.whilstthe Mooncoinbacksweresimplyimpasse*.Tullaroandidnotinany wagcomeuptotheexpectationsof theirfollowers,andtheonlydepartmentinwhichtheyshowedanyerneiencywasinthebacks,someof whomdidverygoodwork.

OnFriday,19thMarch,Mr. CharlesG.Doran,thegiftedArchitectoftheQueenstownCathedral, diedathishomeinQueenstown. BorninDublinhewasalwaysassociatedwiththeadvancemovement inIreland,andaccompaniedJohn Mitchellinhiselectioncampaignin Tipperaryoverthirtyyeatsago. HisknowledgeofIrishliterature wasenormous.andhepossessedan extensiveandvaluablelibraryof booksdealingwithalmostevery Irishsubject.Hewasoneofthe firsttoorganisetheinsurrectionof 1867,andwasintimatelyconnected withJamesStephens,JohnO'Leary andtheotherleadersofthemovement.

OnSunday21stMarch,Alderman BarrettofCorkdiedsuddenly.For fourteenyearsherepresentedhis fellow-citizensintheCorporation, andfiledtheofficeofLord-Mayor during1905andNoe, .s.

SincehisappointmentasP.P.,of theUnitedParishesofclonmult, Duneoumev,andMoge.1y,theRev.
