AbloodyaffraytookplacerecentlyatRavenstown,Sligo,between abodyofcattledriversandthepolice.Twelvepolice,underthechargeofHeadConstableDonavanendeavouredtodispersethecattledriversthelatterdefiedthem,and shotswerefired.Thepolicereceivingthe"fire"orderlevelledtheir muskets.Severalmenwerefrightfullywounded,andayoungfellow, namedJackStensonwasshotdead throughthebrain.Mostofthereportsstatethatthepolicefiredfirst.
