OnlastMondaynightthestudy halloftheLoretoCollege,Claremont,wasthrongedwithfriendsand benefactorsofthecommunity,who hadassembledtoseeandhearthe highclassentertainmentgivenevery Zeaastimebythestudents.There wereparentsandbrothersandsisters andfriendsofthepupils,fromalmosteverypartofthevastStateof W.A.present,andtheappreciation andenthusiasmoftheaudiencewere maintainedthroughoutthewholeperformance.Thehallisentirelytoo smallfortherequirementsnecessary toensurecomfort,andtoshowthe performanceofthestudentstojust

Agnosticismdeclaresthathistory, likeeveryotherScience,dealswholly withPhenomena.ConsequentlyCod, whileobstaclesincrenseinthe-pathandallinterventionbyGodinhuman ofsoulsinmiestoftheIdeal.Butaffairs,shouldberelegatedtofaith -esuredlythetimewillcome,whenwhichistheirexclusiveprovince.If therecanbenomoreevasion.Forsomethingshouldpresentitselfin

Thefundsonhandandpromisedfor thislaudableworkisalreadyover £50.Estimatesarebeingreceived fortheselectedtypeofconveyance decidedon.

Theliveliestappreciationexistsamongsttheinemliersofthissociety, forthegood,nobleandself-sacrificing workperformedbythe"Sisters"in theeducationandtrainingofthe youngmindsofthisCommunity.This theirfirsttestimonyofthatappreciation,isitistobehoped,onlythe

"BookNight."

Themeetingsduringthepastterm havebeenwellattended.Theenthusiasmdisplayedaugureswellforthe continuedsuccessofthesociety.The Syllabuswasofavariedcharacterincludingdebates,lectures,mock elections, magazines,impromptu

;speakingandsocialnights.judiciously'intermixed.Themagazinenights wereeminentlysuccessful,largenumbersofpapersoneachnight,ofa highorder,werecontributed.The president's(Bro.W.Daly)prizeof half-a-guinea,forthemostoriginal article,inducedabouttwelvecompetitorstoenterthe"tests."The adjudicator's(Bro F.Lynch)award,wasgiveninfavorofapaper entitled"Selfishness"submittedby Bro.Brennan.

Thediscussionsarisingfromthe widefieldofsubjects,introducedin thedifferentpaperspronouncedthe "Ifagtazinenights"notonlythemost instructingfromaneducationalstandpoint,butalsotobethemorepopular,be.markedincreasedattendances onthosenights.

Thesocialnights,nodoubtdueto theliberalpatronageoftheladies, alsoprovedhighlyattractiveandsuccessful,andarealwayseagerlylooked forwardtoo.

TheInstallationoftheOfficersfor theensuingsixmonths,wasneat proceededwith-atthisstageofthe meetingtherewasconsiderablyover onehundredpresentincludingmembersandladyfriends.TheinetallationwasperformedbyourSpiritual Director,andworthypastor-Dean Brennan..Hecongratulatedthesocietyontheprogressithasmade. Heeulogisedtheofficersontheir zealousdischargeoftheirduties( Thesocietyhadhissincerestwishes foritscontinuedsuccess.TheRev. gentlemandepictedthemanyadvantagesaccruingtoyoungmen,from belongingto suchasocietyas0. Y.M.S.Heappealedparticularlyto theyoungermemberstotakean activepartinthemeetings.Hepaid awarmtributetothememibersof thesocietyinconnectionwithpresent undertakingsonbehalfofthe"Sisters."DeanBrennannextcomplimentedthedifferentmembersontheir electiontoofficers,andimpressedon eachtheresponsitfilitiestheyhad undertaken.Hehadnodoubtsabout theirdischargingtheirdutiesfaithfullyandwell.

Songssandrecitationsweregiven byseveralpresentduringtheintervals betweentheofficersbeingcalledupon toreturnthanksfortheirelections.
