THEGREEKORTHODOXCHURCH

Correct.
Yet,atthesametime,theChurchrecognisesthevalidityoftheGreek OrthodoxChurch. TheChurchdoesnotrecognisethe "validity"oftheGreekOrthodox Church.SheregardstheGreekOrthodoxChurchasaschismaticalbody, whichhasbrokenrayfromtheone ChurchofChrist.
Itistrue, nevertheless, thatthe Churchrecognisesthevalidityofthe SacramentofHolyOrdersaspossessed andconferredintheGreekOrthodox Church.WhentheGreeksbrokeaway fromtheChurchtheydidnotchange theformorthepurposeoftheSacramentofHolyOrders, andtheirleaders werevalidlyordainedBishops, whohad thepowerofconferringHolyOrders onothers.
TheAnglicans,ontheotherhand, changedtheformandthemeaningof theSacrament.TheirOrdersare, therefore,notrecognisedasvalidby theCatholicChurch.
This,however,doesnotinanyway implyrecognitionoftheGreekOrthodoxChurchasaChurch.TheChurch admits,forinstance,thatallnonCatholicscanvalidlyadministerthe SacramentofBaptism.Butthisdoes notinvolveanyrecognitionofthe truthofnon-Catholicformsofreligion.
ThoughtheOrthodoxChurchpossessesvalidOrders, theCatholic Churchholdsthattheyhavenot, strictlyspeaking, ajuridicalrightto OrdersoranyotherSacrament. The reasonisthattheadministrationof theSacramentsandoftheothermeans ofsanctificationinstitutedbyChrist OurLordwereconfidedbyHimtothe CatholicChurchalone.
Thefollowingroughanalogymay helptomakethepositionclear:Let ussupposethatamemberofafirm takesasumofmoneytowhichhehas noright.Wecanrecognisethegenuinenessofthemoneywithoutthereby implyingthathehasarighttoit. Similarly, wecanrecognisethevalidityofOrdersintheOrthodoxChurch withoutadmittingeitherthetruthof thatChurchoritsjuridicalrightto theSacraments, Thisdoesnotappeartometobeconsistent.
