In an ongoing effort to maintain a safer community, the Arbor Greene CDD will conduct sidewalk repairs, weather permitting, beginning the last week in March with the potential to go through the month of May. The work includes over 600 locations either being replaced, or receiving a horizontal cutting application to eliminate trip hazards. The CDD has also begun efforts to alleviate damages being caused to the infrastructure of Arbor Greene’s roads, storm water gutters “Miami curbs”, utilities, etc., by removing a small portion, 95 out of the 3,000 Live Oak trees that are causing these damages. The CDD is working alongside our District Engineer, Arborist, and the City of Tampa for the removal and replacement of the trees necessary to meet the City of Tampa’s mitigation requirements (Live Oak trees will not be planted back on the easements between the road and sidewalk). Along with the tree project, the damaged curbs and/or roads will be repaired. If sidewalk, curb, road, or tree work is being completed adjacent to your property, we are requesting the following from each resident/homeowner: 1. Keep children away from the worksite. 2. Do not write/mark, walk or ride bikes, etc. in the new cement. 3. Do not use your irrigation system the night following the repairs. 4. After the tree removal, or cement has hardened from sidewalk replacement, and within 30 days of work completion, turn on your irrigation system to ensure it is working properly and there are no leaks adjacent to the worksite. 5. Test your cable, phone and internet connection within 30 days of work completion to verify no lines have been cut. 6. Contact the CDD Maintenance Coordinator at maintenance@arborgreene.com, or (813) 991-9226, ext. 5 if you notice any damages. Any damage to resident irrigation systems, cable, phone and internet lines must be reported to the CDD at the e-mail address or phone numbers above within 30 days of work completion. Repairs will be completed by the contractor within this period. Necessary repairs not reported within the 30-day timeframe are the responsibility of the individual homeowner/resident. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during these necessary repairs.

Hello Arbor Greene Neighbors, This month we touch on some important points while also thanking Arbor Greene neighbors for showing community involvement by voting for HOA board members and considering proposed covenant amendments. Pride and caring for our community have recently been a focus for many neighbors in Arbor Greene, from those wishing for renewal of the beauty that Arbor Greene began with, to those that prefer a more relaxed community environment. The board believes there’s room to accommodate both, and would like to thank everyone who expressed their desires by voting. We thank those who selflessly served our community and welcome those who will be serving. We look forward to another year of continued evolution toward a better community. The board reminds neighbors that the annual mailer included proposed amendments concerning rental properties. These amendments are included in many deed restricted communities’ documents and aim to reduce major problem areas in our community. Please vote on these amendments prior to or at the 24 April HOA meeting. If you have questions, please use the Arbor Greene HOA website (www.arborgreenehoa.com) “Contact-Us” page. The HOA recently experienced delayed DRB applications and Contact-Us messages due to unplanned website security updates. These message delays were corrected, with back-up measures instituted. Additionally, a recent requested change was instituted, ensuring confirmation emails are now sent to anyone successfully submitting online forms. Here are some important highlights: Guideline amendments passed in January 2018 allow residents with verified sod growing limitations, to submit DRB applications requesting a bordered installation of Jasmine Minima or Blue Rug Juniper, provided such installation does not reduce required property sod coverage to below 50% of the unimproved landscaped areas. Guideline amendments passed in February 2018 resulted in 6 villages receiving expanded fence allocations, allowing for 4 foot black chain-link fencing where previously not allowed. Updated guidelines and maps will be posted to the HOA website. We’re grateful to residents who are working hard to maintain their properties and uphold the covenants, keeping our community beautiful while strengthening the preservation of our homes’ values. Sincerely, Arbor Greene HOA Board of Directors ARBOR GREENE GAZETTE

Neighborhood Watch Security Tips to Help Avoid Identity Theft Hello Arbor Greene (AG) Neighbors. Last month’s article addressed preventing Crimes of Opportunity. This article focuses on how basic security measures can help prevent some methods of Identity Theft. The following tips are NOT all-inclusive, so please consider reviewing additional references on how criminals steal data, preventing identity theft, etc. An excellent resource is https:// www.usa.gov/identity-theft. The Federal Trade Commission states that identity theft occurs when an individual uses our personal data without our permission to open bank accounts, file for tax refunds, make purchases on our credit cards, use our credit to obtain loans, receive medical care, etc. Daily use of computers/mobile devices for banking, shopping, and other online activities gives thieves numerous opportunities to obtain our data. Personal data may be stolen when criminals: Steal our phones or wallets; take our trash or steal mail to obtain new credit cards or applications, tax forms, etc.; complete a change of address form to send mail to another location; etc. We may reduce our risk of identity theft by using some of the following tips: Securing our wallets and phones. Being cautious when providing data over the Internet or phone. Using a cross-cut shredder for personal documents. Reporting suspicious activity on credit card or financial statements. Requesting free annual credit reports. Reporting new credit cards we did not apply for. Using complex and frequently changed passwords. Installing reputable phone/mobile device security software. If you are a victim of identity theft, report the crime immediately to the Tampa Police Department and your bank, creditors, credit reporting agencies, etc. File a report with the Federal Trade Commission. You may also need to take other actions, including contacting your employer, the Post Office, Social Security Office, Driver’s License Bureau, etc., depending on what personal data was stolen. If you would like to receive more safety and security tips, please email us at ArborGreene-NWA@hotmail.com. Joining the group does not obligate you to any NHW activity. NHW (formerly known as NWA) is an all-volunteer run program overseen by the TPD.
