Bahrain Confidential talks to Kevin Ryan, Retail Director of Damas Jewellery. How would you describe your leadership style?

My leadership style is focused on two key characteristics: commitment and adaptability. These two traits are instrumental in achieving a well-aligned organizational culture that can easily adapt to market trends. Because Damas is a multi-enterprise business with such a strong and recognizable name, adaptability is a key factor in maintaining the brand and due to this we have to ensure that we have exemplary product quality, unparalleled designs and unmatched craftsmanship, and investing significantly in our employees in terms of training and development and being heavily involved in daily business operations.

A lesson you’ve learned in the course of your career and still follow?

Always listen to your customers. Businesses change constantly, especially in our industry. The fashion market is never consistent; what was fashionable last year isn’t this year. Since we offer jewellery, which is a fashion statement we have to ensure we are aligned with our client’s tastes and understand what they need from us. Damas believes that quality comes from innovation, therefore creativity is at the heart of the brand. At Damas innovation is a watchword, allowing the brand to continuously enhance its range and services to realize its true potential and provide beautiful jewellery that makes us stand out from our competitors.
