Oh We Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside! With a huge bay and stunning sandy beach, Gorleston-on-Sea lies just to the south of Great Yarmouth and features a number of child-friendly attractions. One of which was a paddling pool, but having been built in the 1960s, it had reached the end of its serviceable life. The paddling pool had been well-used and the challenge was to install a modern aquatic facility in Gorleston that would thrill its visitors and withstand the test of time. Following a procurement process, Great Yarmouth Borough Council awarded the design and build contract to Ustigate Waterplay in April 2018. Gorleston’s Splashpad could not have been installed in a better year with the summer of 2018 being the hottest on record since 1976! The Splashpad consists of 38 products altogether, all programmed to run on a sequence that lasts approximately 20 minutes. During hours of operation, the aquatic play can also be activated by touching a button on the inclusive bollard or by touching a choice of two activation pads on the surface. Upon entry to the area you are greeted by a selection of gentle ground sprays of varying heights that provide a nice placid introduction to the forthcoming activity of getting wet. The cluster of sprays at the start of the course are ideal for small children that are experiencing aquatic play for the first time. Waterplayers that are keen to explore a more adventurous form of aquatic play are encouraged to venture further into the area where they will find spinning and splashing galore! The whole of the design lends itself to an ocean theme to entice children’s imagination and to further complement the location of this wet play facility. Knowledge Is Power They say knowledge is power and in a fast-paced industry like ours, it surely is. It provides new ways of thinking, working and inspiring – giving a competitive edge needed to win over new business. This is certainly true at Golden Coast, where the company are always looking for ways to enhance the team’s knowledge base. From in-house training to industry-wide certification, the company understands the rewards of investing in expertise. This awareness and understanding of the technical (and not-so-technical) challenges customers face and the proven methods available to overcome them, adds real value to Golden Coast’s customer offering. However, it also enhances what they can offer their customers too. That’s why they have heavily invested in developing a wide range of resources to support customers in meeting their goals and here are the company’s top three resources: Andy’s Answers on YouTube – This video library answers real questions asked by Golden Coast customers, such as ‘how to change the shaft seal on a swimming pool pump’. Hosted by Andy James, the company’s in-house technical expert, videos on the channel have been watched more than 400,000 times since its launch

in 2012. Free online resources – From e-books and brochures to manuals and technical guidance, the Golden Coast website is packed with the information you need to work effectively (and profitably). Simply head over to the ‘Resources’ section of the Golden Coast website. The sauna e-book is particularly popular and provides a good launchpad for those looking to diversify and gain yearround income. Training support – To ensure any team is equipped with the skills necessary, Golden Coast’s sales team can arrange training sessions which are tailored to exact needs. These can cover a range of products (new and existing) or focus on just one – for either a sales team or for engineers. What’s more, Golden Coast can host them in their dedicated training and display rooms. In addition, the company regularly organise factory visits for their customers and the feedback from these has been extremely positive. Golden Coast 01271 378100 www.goldenc.com
