Shows Roundup We look at what’s on and where over the coming months NEW EVENTS PARTNERS WITH LIW New Events, organisers of the UK Pool & Spa Expo and the Hot Tub Living Expo, have joined forces with Leisure Industry Week (LIW) this year to deliver the UK’s largest leisure industry trade show at Birmingham’s NEC. In 2016, LIW attracted 7,000 attendees and this year’s event is expected to be a key meeting place for decision makers, buyers and influencers from across the leisure industry. It brings together thousands of like-minded professionals to shape the future and growth of the sector. This is supported by a wealth of seminars, workshops and demonstrations and more than 200 exhibitors. By joining the two events, the organisers are confident of a winning formula which will deliver new and existing contacts to the pool and spa sector in particular. Organisers hope that the mix of visitors will give companies the opportunity to widen their network of contacts and meet new distributors and users. The event attracts visitors who are owners or operators of Hotels, Leisure Centres, Country Clubs, Local Authorities, Health Clubs, Spas, Rehabilitation Centres, Sports Clubs, Schools, Colleges and more. With the combination of the two events this year, New Events will be working closely with the LIW team to attract dealers, retailers, installers, architects and property developers that have an interest in water related products, services and accessories. Taking place 12 – 13 September in Hall 1 of the NEC, LIW will feature six tailored sector specific educational streams designed to bring in decision makers from all aspects of the leisure industry. With free entry, a new layout and focus for this year, plus great

facilities that include the new Resorts World and unlimited parking, the organisers of the event are expecting to attract nearer to 9,000 delegates in 2017.
AN EVENT DEFINED BY GROWTH – PISCINA & WELLNESS BARCELONA Piscina & Wellness Barcelona is preparing its next edition, which will take place in from 17 to 20 October 2017 and there’s a good outlook for growth in line with the revival in demand in the Spanish market. Organisers expect to bring together more than 310 exhibitors at the show and for it to be some 10% larger in terms of space and visitors than the previous edition. Spain is Europe’s second-ranked country and fourth in the world in terms of the number of swimming pools (1.16 million). It is an attractive market with business opportunities for refurbishment, maintenance and equipment. This is evidenced by the fact that 60% of the show’s exhibitors and 40% of the visitors are international. Piscina & Wellness Barcelona is one of the shows that defines the sector’s trade fair calendar internationally, and brings together leading brands of manufacturers and distributors, as well as buyers, suppliers and opinion-formers from more than 120 countries. With a special focus on wellness and spa and water installations as booming sectors in 2017, organisers expect that the show’s international appeal will be enhanced even further. At the show it will also be possible to see the main trends driving the market, based on innovative and eco-efficient technologies

solutions that enhance sustainability and the user’s experience. Piscina & Wellness Barcelona also provides an important platform for knowledge of the industry by means of its technical seminars. This year, the show will hold seminars and conferences focusing on wellness and public swimming pools and will host the III Waterpark Symposium for water parks, as well as ASOFAP training sessions. Demonstration spaces, where visitors can see exhibitors products in action will also be present along with an Innovation Zone explaining the main innovations presented by the exhibitors.
NUMEROUS PRESTIGIOUS NAMES ALREADY ON BOARD FOR AQUANALE Held from 7 - 10 November in Cologne, aquanale is seeing higher registration numbers in comparison to the same point in the run-up to the previous edition. Not only are registration numbers higher, but also more exhibition space has already been reserved at the International Trade Fair for Sauna, Pool and Ambience. In total, around 320 companies from more than 25 countries are expected to exhibit at the German event in 2017. Traditionally, aquanale is co-located with FSB, the International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities. The coordination of the two events ensures that both the private and public swimming pool sectors are represented in Cologne prominently and, above all, internationally. In addition to the wide range of exhibitors,
