Welcome!

The Big Feast is our annual festival of outdoor arts, full to the brim with scrumptiously tasty entertainment for all the family. This is our fifth year taking over the streets of Stoke-on-Trent City Centre with The Big Feast and is something we’re super proud of.

This year, we’re presenting the best in local and national talent.

We’re trying out some new things too. Ever wanted to be on the news? Well, here’s your chance to take part in a very special 12 hour radio show broadcast live on the streets by Hunt & Darton in Radio Local. Fancy virtually swinging through a new reality? Our VR (Virtual Reality) Playground may be just the adventure for you. If a thrilling high rise, jenga-style spectacle sounds like your cup of tea you won’t be disappointed by BLOCK. Or if you fancy powerful new performance made locally, catch Restoke’s MAN UP from Tuesday 21 – Friday 24 August. And finally, we’re thrilled to be presenting the magical Museum of the Moon at the King’s Hall, Stoke from Tuesday 21 August.

Appetite is an arts programme that aims to get more people in Stoke-on-Trent to be inspired by the arts. With enormous thanks to our Supper Club, residents of the city who come together to decide what our events look and feel like, and to our Volunteer Team who help us serve up the best event possible for audiences. We owe a huge thanks to both teams who work all year round to make our events the best they can be.

After mesmerising millions across the globe, Luke Jerram’s glorious gleaming moon will shine brightly in Stoke-on-Trent this summer.

Museum of the Moon is a spectacular seven-metre-wide, floating moon sculpture with detailed NASA imagery on its surface. Each centimetre of the replica equals 5 kms of the lunar surface. Escape under moonlight as the lunar lit installation featuring a surround sound composition by BAFTA winner Dan Jones whisks you away to another planet.

Tuesday 21 – Wednesday 29 August Free but some events and activity will be ticketed Co-commissioned by a number of creative organisations brought together by Luke Jerram and Norfolk & Norwich Festival.

These include: At-Bristol, Kimmel Center, Lakes Alive, Provincial Domain Dommelhof, Brighton Festival, Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, Without Walls, Les Tombées de la Nuit, Rennes and Cork Midsummer Festival. The artwork has also been created in partnership with the UK Space Agency, University of Bristol and The Association for Science and Discovery Centres.

Royal Opera House Reimagined The one and only Royal Opera House return to Stoke-on-Trent bringing two reimagined opera classics to the streets of the City Centre.

La Traviata Reimagined The city of light is full of dark secrets: beneath the dazzle of high society there are desperate secrets and sickness stalks our lovers Violetta and Alfredo. Join performers from the Royal Opera House as they waltz you through this dazzling story of love, betrayal and heartbreak, and meet some of the characters lurking in the shadows of Verdi’s beloved opera.

La Bohème Join our young bohemians, guided by love alone, as they celebrate freedom, friendship and an uncertain future. Powered by Puccini’s iconic songs of love and liberty, witness Mimi and Rodolfo meet for the first time and the tempestuous romance of singer Musetta and artist Marcello. by Hunt & Darton Supported by BBC Radio Stoke, celebrating 50 years of local radio.

The wonderfully wild duo Hunt & Darton are letting loose their sometimes questionable presenting skills to collaborate with YOU in a 12-hour, live performance, building a brand-new radio station with the people of Stoke.

Locally collected stories and contributions will feature in a live outdoor broadcast. There’ll be chance to create live jingles, play games, have a moan at their agony aunt, take part in highly competitive family events, blame the hourly elected DJ for the music choices, be coupled up for the dating show, listen to the traffic report from the nearest road, be entertained by their surprise guest presenter and help them stay live for the duration of a day in their new home.
