ALPHARETTA, Ga. — An Alpharetta nonprofit wants to give students an artistic outlet during difficult moments. Members of Arts Alpharetta dropped off about 100 boxes of art supplies to Summit and Dolvin elementary schools Dec. 18. Wrapped in colorful bows, the boxes contain crayons, markers, paper, scissors, notepads and paints. Ruth Bowen, Summit Elementary counselor, said she will offer the boxes to small groups and individual students to help them regulate their emotions. “It’s a great coping tool for when students have different things going on,” she said. “It helps them to calm down, helps them kind of recenter.”
