A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Academic Conferencing
We have just had our first round of Academic Conferencing and it has been a very impressive process. It is crucial that whanau, students and staff have the opportunity to objectively discuss students’ academic progress. This discussion was based on data and evidence produced from the beginning of this school year, from all subject areas. I remain convinced that this process of academic conferencing

Fitness and Services Academy
This year we have a new initiative which has seen more Vocational Pathways created for the Year 12 students. This is to encourage improved academic success and on job training so that students can make an easier transition from school into the work force. One of these pathways is the Fitness and Services Academy. Term 1: Police Prep Course at TWOA. This was very successful and three of the students managed to break the existing records for the physical testing Tyarazei Cotter-Williams, Moses Wetere and George Fuamatu. We also started swimming lessons at the pools which we are going to be continuing throughout term 2. Term 2: We are going to “Paintball” for their safety management assessment and “Tough guy and tough gal” for their practical assessment. We will also be doing first aid, fitness testing and training. Great start to the year so far and I look forward to sharing what we do throughout the year. Tanya Kimiangatau, HOD Physical Education.
