The Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ANZAOMS) is the professional representative organisation for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) within Australia and New Zealand. Our Association is the peak body for OMS specialists. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons have received extensive education and training which qualifies them to treat all diseases, defects, injuries and developmental anomalies of the mouth, teeth, jaws, neck and face. OMS is a surgical specialty recognised by both the Australian Medical Council and the Medical Council of New Zealand and, as a specialty of dentistry, is also recognised by the Australian Dental Council and the Dental Council of New Zealand.
