My book «I Hate My Feet» is about Sneakers, kicks, trainers, joints, runners, creps, or just regular-as shoes; sneakers to me are something fundamental and personal, as I tend to base everything I wear or do on my shoes. I’ve always hated my feet, maybe not just mine, but feet in general; I find them gross. Therefore I like covering them up with good-looking footwear. I can perfectly remember when I first matched my entire outfit with the shoes I was wearing, or instead of the sandals I was wearing (that’s the German side in me…), which were army green with little neon-orange details. I matched them with socks shorts and a shirt that was exactly the same tone of green. The zips of the shorts were in the same orange as the details on the sandals. I have no idea why I remember that day so well, because as far as I know I was seven years old at the time, yet it is a memory that will stick with me all my life.
